What 36 hours without food taught me
The day before yesterday, I decided to take a break from eating.
I went water-fasting for 36 hours.
The next morning, my reptilian brain silently whispered: “It’s okay, you can always fast tomorrow.”
I simply ignored it and kept going.
I drank two cups of green tea during the day.
Went to sleep on an empty stomach.
The next morning I felt like a new person.
I had more energy, more calmness, more clarity than I had in a long time.
Here is what I learned from this 36-hour fast:
The first 6 hours are the toughest. Once you get past that window, things get easier.
Instead of fighting the temptation to eat, observe it, let it go.
Fasting makes you feel stronger instead of weaker.
Once your mind has truly made a decision, the body will follow.
I ended up with a cleaner body from the inside, drug-free healing, more testosterone, and more clarity.
Sounds like a good bargain.
My next goal is a 48-hour fast.
What has been your experience with fasting? What’s the longest fasting streak you’ve tried?
