The Golden Hour
Mornings are my favourite time of the day.
Watching the sun rise.
Listening to the birds chirping.
Feeling the fresh breeze and the sunshine.
But there is something even more powerful about the first hour.
It comes down to one idea - ‘how we spend the first hour determines how we live the rest of our day’.
That’s why I call it the ‘golden hour’ of the day.
How you think, feel, and act in the first hour determines the texture and shape of the entire day.
When I realized this truth, I started becoming more intentional about my first hour.
Here is a version of the ‘Golden Hour’ ritual that I personally follow.
The Golden Hour Ritual
Start with gratitude: I wake up and feel a deep sense of gratitude for the things I have. Gratitude in my view is the highest form of positive energy that human beings are capable of generating, at any point in time.
Journaling: I write my thoughts without any agenda. The practice of journaling helps declutter the mind and bring clarity.
Visualization: I visualize things getting done with ease. I feel the joy and sense of accomplishment for the day. Again, this is a conscious effort without trying too hard.
Meditation: I meditate for 15-20 minutes. This is where I feel grounded, calm, and creative.
When you look at those four things, initially…you might think - “oh, this is too much.”
But in reality, each activity takes roughly 5-15 minutes.
The Result…
More energy, more ease, more accomplishments during the day.
What has been your experience? Have you seen a pattern in your morning that carries forward?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
